The Pacific coast towns with all-inclusive resorts from north to south are San Jose del Cabo, Mazatlan, Puerto Vallarta, Manzanillo, Ixtapa, and Huatulco.

SAN JOSE DEL CABO has beautiful beaches but most of them are not swimmable because of the strong surf and undertow.  There are several all-inclusive resorts in this area:  Fiesta Inn, Presidente Intercontinental, and Royal Solaris.  For more info on these resorts click here.

MAZATLAN does not have very many all inclusive resorts. It's a great party town, but for couples and families it would not be my first choice. The El Cid has the best location, and offers an all-inclusive plan at its Castilla Beach section.  I have stayed here, but at that time they did not offer an all-inclusive plan option. It's on a great beach, and has a roped off area to keep away the vendors.  The pool is fantastic, with waterfalls, a slide, and swim up bar. Certain restaurants are not included.

PUERTO VALLARTA has grown tremendously over the years with new resort developments. Downtown Puerto Vallarta is still quaint with cobblestone streets and a mile long boardwalk with blocks of shops, restaurants, and night clubs.  South of downtown is the dense lush jungles within the hillsides of the Sierra Madres mountains.  North is the resort and residential development of Nuevo Vallarta, home to several popular all-inclusive resorts. Nuevo Vallarta has nice, long beaches and is a good choice for those who want to be away from the crowded beaches and lively pace of downtown Vallarta.  The Riu Jalisco, Samba Vallarta, and Club Marival are good choices in the Nuevo Vallarta  area, only a 15 minute drive from the airport , 30-40 minutes from downtown.    For more info on these resorts click here.

IXTAPA is a planned resort development near the  town of Zihuatenajo. The surroundings are very lush and tropical. It is a very clean and nicely landscaped development.  The Club Med here is a wonderful family resort, but beware there will be lots of kids, especially during school break periods. There are some other all-inclusive resorts here that are more suitable for couples and singles, or families wanting more luxurious accommodation and facilities.  Click here for a detailed resort report.

HUATULCO is the furthest south, and can be difficult to get to.  Unless there's a charter operating from your home town, you will have to change planes in Mexico City.  The weather is dependably hot and dry during our winter months. I highly recommend the Gala Resort.  It is the best choice for families, couples, or singles. For more info on the Gala Resort, click here.
