The best value family resort in San Jose del Cabo is the FIESTA INN, a bright blue and yellow themed beachfront resort with 153 spacious rooms and a casual, family-oriented atmosphere.  All the rooms have private balconies overlooking a cactus garden with partial ocean views. It is a 15 minute walk to downtown, and a 30 minute bus ride to Cabo San Lucas (a more lively and commercial town). Snorkelling and bicycle tours are included. They have a kids club with some organized activities during the day. This is a great choice if you're looking for a smaller resort at a good price.

If you prefer a larger resort with more facilities and dining options, the 400 room PRESIDENTE INTERCONTINENTAL offers a choice of 6 restaurants and 24 hr. room service.  Serenity, seclusion, and luxury are the hallmarks of the Presidente, set on a long stretch of beach next to the Estero San José. Low-rise, Mediterranean-style buildings frame the beach and San José's largest swimming pool, which has a swim-up bar. I suggest requesting a ground-floor oceanfront room, as the lower level offers spacious terraces as an alternative to a tiny balcony on upper-level units.  Green fees at a nearby 9-hole golf course can be included in the package rate.

The beautiful ROYAL SOLARIS, located next to the Presidente, is only a few years old and the best all-inclusive resort in San Jose.  It has 400 rooms, 80% of them with an ocean view,  4 restaurants, a sports bar, lobby bar with live music, disco, gym, and mini club for kids.  Excellent food, service, and facilities.
